StarCenter complex in Frisco getting $40M expansion

By SHERYL JEAN / The Dallas Morning News sjean@dallasnews.com The Deja Blue Arena at Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco is undergoing a $40 million expansion to allow more types of events. The StarCenter is home to the Dallas Stars hockey team. The Deja Blue Arena hosts Frisco Thunder, a team of the Intense Football League. Work recently began to add 1,500 hockey seats, four luxury suites, a private club and a kitchen and concession area and another parking garage for the arena and StarCenter. When construction is completed in May 2009, the arena will have 5,000 hockey seats and 12 suites. The arena and its ice rink are closed during construction.
