SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Random license plate checks by the Utah Division of Motor Vehicles nabbed two people wanted for questioning in a California murder. During a routine check for stolen vehicles at a Motel 6, the DMV came across a car with California plates. As soon as they ran it, they were on to something or someone in room 109. Salt Lake City Police Lieutenant Scott White said, "The more they [DMV employees] looked into it, [it] came back as a missing person. They made a phone call and spoke to a sergeant back in California...The suspect vehicle...they were people that were wanted in a homicide." Moments later, a woman left the room and headed for the car. She had cuts all over her. She was questioned and later arrested.
