Dar es Salaam, Jul. 24, 2008 (CWNews.com) - In a message to African Church leaders participating in a conference on the evangelization of culture, Pope Benedict XVI said that bringing the Gospel to new cultures is "an old yet ever new mission." The Pope's message was read at a 3-day conference taking place in Bagamoyo, Tanzania, under the auspices of the Pontifical Council for Culture. Archbishop Giovanni Ravasi, the president of that council is chairing the conference. Cardinal Polycarp Pengo of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, presided at the opening Mass and will deliver the closing address.
