Smith voices Davis frustration

Ibrox outfit looking to bolster midfield ranks Rangers boss Walter Smith has been left frustrated by his failure to sign midfielder Steven Davis. The Northern Ireland international impressed at Ibrox while on loan last season and Rangers were keep to secure his services on a permanent basis. They were especially hoping to sign the player before Thursday's UEFA Champions League signing deadline ahead of next week's crucial qualifier against Lithuanian out-fit FBK Kaunas. But negotiations with Fulham ended in stalemate, although Smith is not conceding defeat yet with five weeks remaining of the transfer window.
