Dr. & Pharmacist Accused Of Pushing Illegal RX's

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― A Fort Lauderdale doctor and an Oakland Park pharmacist have been arrested for allegedly trafficking in prescription drugs. A joint undercover investigation between BSO and DEA led to the arrests of Dr. Robert Hunt and Michael Kenney, who stand accused of dispensing narcotics and other medications for no medical purpose. Detectives arrested Dr. Hunt at his Ft. Lauderdale office with a room full of waiting patients on Thursday. Also arrested on Thursday, pharmacist Michael Kenney. The doctor and pharmacist are unrelated. Deputies confiscated computers and medical files from both offices. Kenney, the owner of Beach-Med Community Pharmacy was also over-billing insurance companies and only providing a portion of the drugs billed, according to BSO.
