Coral Springs National gets second chance in Little League tournament

By Rick Menning | Special Correspondent The Coral Springs National Little League team is getting another chance, as the Kendall Hammocks Optimist All-Star team was removed from the International Little League Tournament on Wednesday, the charter of that organization suspended by the International Tournament Committee at Williamsport, Pa. Coral Springs National lost to Kendall Hammocks in the sectional final at Coconut Creek on Sunday afternoon but now will replace Kendall Hammocks at the state tournament and face Martin County North at 7 p.m. Friday. For National manager Ray Carballo and his team of 11- and 12-year-olds, the news was bittersweet.
