Japan Says at Least 200 Injured in Northeast Quake

Posted on: Friday, 25 July 2008, 09:00 CDT Text of report in English by Japan's largest news agency Kyodo Tokyo, July 25 Kyodo - The number of injured in the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that jolted northeastern Japan on Thursday had reached 200 in eight prefectures as of 5 p.m. Friday, while 89 buildings were damaged, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency said. Of the 200 injured, 94 were from Aomori Prefecture, 83 from Iwate, 17 from Miyagi, two from Akita and one each from Hokkaido, Yamagata, Fukushima and Chiba prefectures, according to the agency.
