The Romanian international defender was expected to complete a £3.5million move from French Ligue 1 cracks Auxerre but his switch to the Scottish champions fell through over his demands. According to reports in his homeland, Tamas refused to budge from his desire to rake in £20,000 a week from Gordon Strachan's side. Celtic chiefs refused to entertain his pleas, however, and wouldn't go higher than £14,000 a week.
