KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistan’s Farhan Mahboob and Mansoor Zaman have qualified for for the main rounds of CIMB Malaysian Open Squash Championship. In the event being held in Kuala Lumpur, Pakistan sixth seed and world ranked 33 Mansoor Zaman defeated Australia’s Wade Johnstone in three games against two. Pakistan seventh seed and 32nd in the world circuit Farhan Mahboob won three games against one over Egypt’s Tarek Momen to be placed in the last eight. However, the world number 40 Lahore based Yasir Butt failed to qualify for the main rounds of the tournament after conceding a defeat from Australian Wade Johnstone in final qualifying round while Kashif Shuja, also from Pakistan, was beaten by Egypt’s Omar Mosaad and went out of the tournament.
