Inmate patrols to clean 16 neighborhoods

By Jessica Brown and Jane Prendergast • Sixteen Cincinnati neighborhoods and Hamilton County suburbs will see clean-up patrols by jail inmates thanks to city, county and private money. Mayor Mark Mallory and Hamilton County Commissioners David Pepper and Todd Portune are scheduled to announce the new clean-up partnership at 10 a.m. Thursday in a news briefing at Westwood Town Hall. Specific communities will be listed then. Crews will spend one day in each community every two weeks. Among the entities pitching in a total of $120,000 for the year-long program: Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, the Hamilton County Solid Waste District, Cincinnati’s public works department and Cincinnati Center City Development Corp.
