NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- MeadWestvaco Corp. said Thursday its second-quarter profit totaled $56 million, or 33 cents a share, from $32 million, or 17 cents a share, in the same quarter a year before. Analysts had expected on average earnings of 20 cents per share, according to FactSet Research.
