Associated Press - July 23, 2008 6:55 PM ET ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Right-handed pitcher and hometown standout Matt Thompson was 1 of 2 more draft picks that agreed to terms today with the Texas Rangers. Thompson was a seventh-round pick from Grace Prep Academy in Arlington, which is only about 20 minutes from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Also agreeing to terms was outfielder Clark Murphy, the fifth-round pick who is from Fallbrook High in California. The Rangers have come to terms with 22 of the first 26 players they chose in the amateur draft in June. That includes the third through ninth picks after Thompson and Murphy agreed.
