8-year-old girl shot to death in South LA

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police say an 8-year-old girl has been shot to death in South Los Angeles, the unintended target of a gang-related shooting. The girl was shot near East 76th and South San Pedro streets at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. Los Angeles police Capt. Dennis Cato tells Fox 11 News that a group of children were playing in the courtyard of their apartment building when two males opened fire. Cato says the girl was hit in the chest.
