Corridor's expansion by 2016 affects 17 large plots of land By AL KEMP • The News Journal • July 24, 2008 Knowing their 11-acre property lies in the path of the new U.S. 301 corridor, the Wurzburg family contacted the Delaware Department of Transportation last fall about an early acquisition. Richard Wurzburg built a four-bedroom home on Armstrong Corner Road in 1989 before suffering a series of debilitating strokes. His 86-year-old mother, Grace, is his live-in caregiver. His brother Robert, who lives near Trenton, represents the family in all business and legal affairs. Robert Wurzburg said last week that DelDOT wanted to go to settlement by June 30, and that the delay has left the family in limbo because the declining health of his mother and brother requires extensive modifications to their home.
