A HEADTEACHER is joining the call for SATs to be abolished. Stephen Mason, head of St Augustine's Primary School in Weymouth, said his school was one of four primary schools in the town that have complained of late and inaccurate test results for their 11-year-olds' exams. Mr Mason said the SATs have imploded under their own weight and complexity' after schools across the country experienced similar problems. In a letter to the Dorset Echo he said: "This is simply not good enough and they have let our children down badly. "Instead of a celebration of success and achievement at the end of the school year our pupils feel disappointed and let down."
