Jordin Sparks Helps Kids Get School Supplies

Written by Tim Saunders Former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is starring in a series of advertisements for a new initiative to supply disadvantaged children with school supplies. The 18-year-old R&B singer will appear in a new Public Service Announcement to air on TV and radio across the US urging teenagers to donate classroom essentials – including books, pens, pencils, and everything else students need to do well – to their local Staples store before August 31. The supplies will then be passed on to those in need by the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America and the Hanscom Air Force Base Youth Center. “There are so many kids in America that need school suplies that don’t have them, and all somebody has to do is donate them,” said Sparks. “It’s so easy.” Staples – the office supply giants – are also donating $50,000 worth...
