Many sex offenders live by schools

BY ERICA WALTERS The Dispatch More than 85 sex offenders live in a five-mile radius from a school in one of Davidson County's three school systems, according to the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry. Rochelle Bobo, assistant superintendent for human resources at Lexington City Schools, said the system does not have any particular policy regarding sex offenders in the city. "We are aware that sex offenders reside in everyone's community," Bobo said. "The Lexington school system has policies and procedures in place to provide for a safe environment."
