br clear="none"/>West Australian seniors will be able to travel on discounted public transport fares anywhere in Australia from next year. Seniors discounts are currently restricted to a person's home state. The agreement was struck at a Ministerial Council meeting yesterday and has attracted $50 million in Federal Government funding. The acting Seniors Minister Mark McGowan says the plan will help seniors visit family in other states. "So if your a West Australian senior and you jump on a train in Melbourne you'll be able to get the concession fare and the same arrangement would be in place in Sydney or Adelaide or wherever you might be in the eastern states," he said.
