Posted to the web 24 July 2008 Harare LOBELS Holdings will temporarily resume operations for a day this weekend to raise funds for salaries, an official said on Tuesday. Operations director Cydwell Chitewe told said that the company, which closed down three weeks ago due to flour shortages, had since received the commodity from the Grain Market Board. "We have received 30 tonnes of flour from GMB through National Foods Limited," he said. "The flour," he added, "was only enough for a day's production." He said the procurement was aimed at raising salaries for this month. Chitewe said the bakery "was continuing with efforts to seek permission to import wheat so as to resume full operations soon."
