96-Year-old Woman Taken From Home With 50 Cats

DETROIT -- Animal control officers raided a home near Van Dyke and 15 Mile Road Wednesday afternoon after neighbors complained about a strong smell of feces and urine. Once inside, authorities found a 96-year-old woman living with 50 cats and at least two-dozen dead cats. Police said six inches or more of cat feces lined the floors and a hazardous materials team was called in to assist in the clean up. Authorities determined the house is uninhabitable.
