For state representative in Wayne County suburbs

The Detroit News We continue our endorsements today in the suburban Wayne County state representative races, where term limits are creating many open races that require voters to select their replacements carefully. • District 1 (Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Township, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Woods, Harper Woods and parts of Detroit): State Rep. Ed Gaffney, R-Grosse Pointe, is leaving because of term limits. On the Republican side, our endorsement goes to Pete Waldmeir, a Grosse Pointe Woods council member. Waldmeir has extensive knowledge of the community. He was best known as a muckraking columnist for The News before his retirement.
