A Hamilton man charged in relation to a large scale movie pirating operation has now been charged with possessing child pornography. Police allege the 28-year-old Asian man sold pirated DVDs on a Mandarin language website. In a joint operation with the New Zealand Federation Against Copyright Theft, police seized a number of computer hard drives. They say forensic analysis has resulted in the man facing a further 27 charges of possessing objectionable material and one charge of making such publications. The new charges carry maximum penalties of 10 years imprisonment or a $50,000 fine per offence. Share this...
