Nadal, Safin move into third round at Rogers Cup

overcame a slow start to dispatch Jesse Levine of the United States 6-4, 6-2 in the second round of the Rogers Cup on Wednesday in his first match since his epic Wimbledon triumph. Nadal rallied from 4-1 down, breaking Levine four times in the 97-minute match. Spanish compatriot and fifth seed David Ferrer defeated Robby Ginepri 6-4, 6-4 for just his second career win in six matchups against the American. The match was played after a nearly six-hour rain delay. In other action, Marin Cilic of Croatia ousted 12th-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain 6-3, 6-4, and Russian Marat Safin won his first-round matchup with American Sam Querrey 6-3, 6-3.
