The good: Decent overall performance; nice-looking design; media control buttons above keyboard and volume dial along front edge add convenience; includes a Webcam--a feature not found on all entry-level laptops. The bad: Mediocre battery life; substandard keyboard; wobbly display; cluttered desktop; no FireWire or Bluetooth. The bottom line: There is nothing inherently wrong with the entry-level Toshiba Satellite L305, but both Dell and Sony have 15-inch budget laptops that offer more for less.
