Wednesday July 23, 5:05 pm ET Current Board Chairman Norimichi Kanari to Step Down SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UnionBanCal Corporation (NYSE: UB - News ) today announced that Kyota Omori will succeed Norimichi Kanari as chairman of the board effective July 23, 2008. Kanari, who has served as chairman of UnionBanCal and its principal subsidiary, Union Bank of California, N.A., since February 2007, is stepping down from his position. Omori, 60, will serve as non-resident chairman of UnionBanCal and Union Bank of California. A graduate of The University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, Omori is the deputy president for Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc.
