Nelson straddles climate chasm

Lenore Taylor, National correspondent | July 24, 2008 BRENDAN Nelson is trying to negotiate a tougher position on emissions trading with key members of his shadow cabinet, as he straddles deep divisions in the party between climate change sceptics and those who support a trading scheme. Climate change spokesman Greg Hunt and the Treasury spokesman, Malcolm Turnbull, are writing a submission on the Coalition's response to the Government's proposed ETS for next week's shadow cabinet meeting "in negotiation" with the Opposition Leader and his senior staff.
