James Taylor's 'one Man Band' Earns Emmy Nomination By: Howie Edelson James Taylor snagged an Emmy nomination for his One Man Band concert performance, which was shown on PBS. Taylor is nominated in "Best Variety, Music, or Comedy Special" category and is up against The Kennedy Center Honors which saluted Brian Wilson, Diana Ross, among others; and the comedy specials Bill Maher: The Decider; George Carlin: It's Bad For Ya!; Kathy Griffin: Straight To Hell; and Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project. The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards airs live on September 21st on ABC. One Man Band was taped in 2007 over three nights at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, with Taylor accompanied only by his acoustic guitar and keyboardist Larry Goldings.
