Manalapan National moves to next round

The Manalapan National 11-year old All-Stars won the District 19 Little League Championship on Tuesday night. Manalapan won two straight games, 15-4, and, 8-2, against a previously unbeaten Freehold team to advance to the sectionals. Strong pitching by Mike Caggiano, Julius Saporito and Mike Marantz, along with strong defensive play carried Manalapan. Mike Marantz belted six homers in the tournament and Julius Saporito added four. Josh Chevlin also made some big contributions on offense which included a grand slam.
