Update: 4:13PM Fiji Water, along with a majority of Fijis other bottled water producers, has today filed a lawsuit seeking a stay order on the decision by Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority to impose 20 cents per litre taxation on mineral water. The bottled company has attributed the cause of this lawsuit due to the lack of movement by the interim Government and imposition of the tax pending a final decision by Cabinet. FIRCA and interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry are accused of refusing to take any action or even engaging in any meaningful dialogue to repeal this tax.
