Mattoon native helped CBS in wake of famous 'wardrobe malfunction'

By AMBER WILLIAMS/Staff writer awilliams@jg-tc.com The day after the infamous 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, representatives for the CBS television network were on the phone with Bob Corn-Revere. The performance of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson had been major news the morning after the big game, eclipsing mentions of the Super Bowl itself. While performing the Super Bowl halftime show together, Timberlake tore away a piece of Jackson’s outfit, exposing one of her breasts. The Federal Communications Commission, which monitors television indecency, was flooded with complaints against CBS for the “wardrobe malfunction.” For their legal representation, CBS went to Corn-Revere, an expert in First Amendment law.
