Kalou heads to Heerenveen

UEFA Cup hopefuls SC Heerenveen have announced the signing of Ivorian midfielder Bonaventure Kalou from United Arab Emirates side Al-Jazira Club. Title winner The 30-year-old, who has 12 goals in 51 appearances for his country, is believed to have joined on a free transfer and signed a two-year contract with Heerenveen. The elder brother of Chelsea FC striker Salomon played in the Netherlands for Feyenoord from 1997 until the summer of 2003, winning the 1999 Eredivisie title and the 2002 UEFA Cup.
