American Electric Power names Turner to board

NEW YORK (AP) - American Electric Power Co. said Tuesday it has named John F. Turner, a former State Department official, a director, boosting its board to 12 members. Turner, 66, is a visiting professor at the University of Wyoming and a managing partner of The Triangle X Ranch, a dude ranch. He served as assistant secretary of state for oceans and international environmental and scientific affairs from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, he was president and chief executive of The Conservation Fund, a director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and a member of the Wyoming Legislature.
