Truck crash brings traffic to halt on Emirates Road in Sharjah

Sharjah: A truck swerved into an electric pole on Monday morning, causing traffic to come to a standstill on the Emirates Road. A Pakistani truck driver hit the electric pole while heading towards Ajman from Sharjah. The truck then flipped over to the opposite lane, halting traffic flow in both directions, causing long delays for motorists. Sharjah Police had to call the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) to disconnect the power from the entire area to cope with the accident. No casualties were reported, but the truck's fuel spilt over the road. The operation control room at Sharjah Police said they were alerted to the incident at 10am. Hazard The Ajnad patrol and rescue unit rushed to the incident and helped remove the truck from the road so as to open the road to motorists, in addition to cleaning up the fuel...
