Senior legislator: China willing to promote ties with Costa Rica

SAN JOSE, July 21 (Xinhua) -- China attaches great importance to its ties with Costa Rica and is ready to work with the Central American country to promote the stable, sustainable and healthy development of bilateral relations, a leading Chinese lawmaker said here on Monday. Uyunqimg, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), the legislative body of China, made the remark here at a meeting with Costa Rican Vice President Laura Chinchilla. She appreciated Costa Rica's sympathies and aid offered to China after a devastating earthquake struck China's southwestern province of Sichuan on May 12.
