Jul 22 2008 by Simon Roberts, Western Mail Simon Roberts believes it’s time the WRU took the regions’ lead to revive an ailing Premiership DAVID MOFFETT once described the Principality Premiership as Welsh rugby’s “jewel in the crown”. The former Welsh Rugby Union Group chief executive had a clear vision of what he saw as the role of part-time rugby in Wales. Sadly, Moffett’s jewel is tarnished and has lost its lustre. Its role in professional rugby is now the subject of much debate in the corridors of power. The current regime at the WRU appear at a loss as to what to do with what should be the cornerstone of elite rugby in Wales.
