While some New Brunswickers were scrambling to grab Elton John tickets over the weekend, others were guaranteeing their entry to Fredericton's Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in record style. Officials report that the festival had a record-setting opening day of ticket sales on Saturday. Organizers were concerned about what ticket sales would look like on the first weekend they were available when they were pitted against the British rocker's shows in Moncton and Saint John, said communications director Dave Seabrook. "Elton John is a big act and having tickets go on sale the exact same day as our first day of ticket sales certainly made us wonder if there might be an impact, but we were pleasantly surprised," Seabrook said.
