Ronaldinho’s delicate juggling act

Forty thousand people turned up at the San Siro on Thursday to welcome Ronaldinho. AC Milan presented him in a glitzy ceremony, which was broadcast live on television and pulled few punches in terms of hype: fireworks, Brazilian dancing girls, freestyle ball jugglers and, of course, the new Messiah himself. Imagine Barnum and Bailey staging a revival meeting with Ronaldinho giving the sermon and you get the picture. In fact, the former Barcelona player did what he was paid to do: deliver converts to the “Rossoneri” church. Milan sold 10,000 season tickets in the 48 hours after his signing.
