Canadian searchers fail to find missing adventurer's remains

Canwest News Service Published:Â Sunday, July 20, 2008 CALGARY - They stumbled upon a bear, a rattlesnake, a deadly scorpion and a bobcat but a team of Canadian searchers turned up no trace of airplane wreckage linked to missing millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett. "It was very long and taxing week for everybody," Calgary's Keith Szlater said Sunday in an interview from Reno, Nev., where he enjoyed a hot shower and warm bed after a week in bush. Szlater was the base camp manager for a team of elite athletes from Canada who trekked through a rugged mountain range stretching 650 kilometres across California and into Nevada, as they looked for Fossett, who was declared dead earlier this year.
