By Sports Network - The Sports Network Defending champion Padraig Harrington will be paired with former major champions Retief Goosen and Justin Leonard for the first two rounds of the 137th British Open Championship, which tees off Thursday at Royal Birkdale. Harrington defeated Sergio Garcia last year in a playoff at Carnoustie to claim his first major championship title. Royal Birkdale is hosting the Open Championship for the first time since 1998, when Mark O'Meara bested Brian Watts in a playoff. Harrington missed the cut in 1998 at Birkdale for one of his three missed cuts in this championship. Other than his win, Harrington's best finish was a tie for fifth, which he did in 1997 at Royal Troon and in 2002 at Muirfield.
