British Hostage 'Commits Suicide'

A British hostage seized in Baghdad last year has died, according to claims made by his kidnappers. British hostage Jason who is reported to have killed himself The video statement given to the Sunday Times says that the hostage, named only as Jason, committed suicide on May 25, four days before the first anniversary of the abduction. In the same video, another hostage, Alan, is shown appealing for the British Government to secure the men's release. "Physically, I'm not doing well," he says. "Psychologically, I'm doing a lot worse. I want to see my family again." The video was handed to the Sunday Times in Baghdad last week by an intermediary who said Jason had made two previous attempts to kill himself.
