While at Texas, catcher Taylor Teagarden led the Longhorns to the national championship in 2005. Now, the former Longhorn will try to lead the 2008 U.S. Olympic team to gold in Beijing. Teagarden was given one of the 23 of 24 roster spots the organization announced on Wednesday. Teagarden, now a member of the Oklahoma Redhawks - the Texas Rangers Triple-A affiliate - is hitting .238 with 23 runs, four doubles, three triples, six home runs and 15 RBI in 49 games. He was also selected for the 2008 All-Stars futures game. At Texas in 2005 Teagarden batted .333 with 33 RBI.
