SOUTHWEST SIDE | Ceremony set for Saturday BY KARA SPAK AND ANNIE SWEENEY Staff Reporters/kspak@suntimes.com asweeney@suntimes.com The tragically brief life of 9-year-old Mya Lyons will be celebrated Saturday with bunches of roses -- pink, of course -- at a funeral at a Southwest Side church. A service is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Monument of Faith Evangelical Church, 2750 W. Columbus Ave., Mya's aunt, Nicole Barnes, said Wednesday. Mya's father found the little girl, her body bloody, in a poorly lighted alley overgrown with weeds near his home in the 8400 block of Gilbert Court late Monday. He and her uncle rushed her to Jackson Park Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m. after suffering multiple stab wounds.
