'These martyrs have defeated the enemy' - Hizbullah official By Agence France Presse (AFP) Saturday, July 19, 2008 Lamia Radi Agence France Presse BEI`RUT: Thousands of people attended a memorial service in Beirut on Friday for eight Hizbullah fighters killed in the summer 2006 war and whose bodies were returned to Lebanon two days earlier. Some 5,000 people gathered in a convention hall in the Hizbullah stronghold of Beirut's southern suburbs for the memorial, which was attended by grieving relatives and supporters of the resistance movement. Eight coffins draped in yellow Hizbullah flags, decorated with floral wreaths and pictures of the deceased, were placed in the hall.
