WI teen charged with starving her baby, and hiding the body

LA CROSSE, WI -- A La Crosse teen has been charged with starving her 2-day-old baby to death by refusing to feed it. Nineteen-year-old Indra Book was charged Friday with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. The felonies carry a maximum penalty of life in prison. Prosecutors say the woman gave birth last August but stopped breast-feeding the girl after two days, knowing the infant would die. Then she allegedly put the infant's body in a cooler and set it out with the garbage this spring. The child's remains haven't been recovered.
