Wildfire near Pasco quickly extinguished

By Paula Horton, Herald staff writer A small wildfire near an orchard north of Pasco sent a thick column of heavy black smoke into the sky that was visible in the Tri-Cities for a short time Monday morning. The fire appeared to have started around 10 a.m. near Taylor Flats Road and West Sagemoor Road in Franklin County. Some older farm equipment and tires were burned by the fire, which scorched less than an acre. Neighbors and ranchers had shovels and buckets of water to douse the flames.
