Miller placed on DL with a balky knee

JOE RIMKUS JR. / MIAMI HERALD STAFF Andrew Miller, the Marlins' struggling starter, is headed to the disabled list with right knee tendinitis. The left-hander was roughed up on the just-concluded trip, going 0-2 while giving up 14 earned runs in 13 2/3 innings in three starts out West. He walked a dozen batters in those games. The Marlins are expected to promote a reliever from Triple A Albuquerque (N.M.), at least for the time being. In the meantime, Josh Johnson and Chris Volstad will move up in the rotation, with Johnson taking Miller's start Sunday and Volstad going Monday.
