Blues open season at home

The Blues will open the NHL season at home for the first time since 2002 when they host the Nashville Predators Oct. 10 at Scottrade Center. The 2008-09 schedule, released today, features two fewer games against Central Division opponents and sees the Blues play every team in league at least once. The club will play six games against Detroit, Chicago, Columbus and Nashville this season; in the past, division foes have faced each other eight times. As part of the decision to have every team meet during the regular season, the Blues will host Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 1 at Scottrade Center.
