Top Chinese legislator vows to enhance co-op with Ethiopian parliament

BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo on Friday pledged to increase exchanges and cooperation with the Ethiopian parliament. Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the country's top legislature, made the remarks during a meeting with the Speaker of Ethiopia's Council of People's Representatives Teshome Toga. He was here on a visit from July 10 to 16 as guest of Wu. Hailing the existing sound exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two nations, Wu said the NPC valued the relation with the Ethiopian parliament. The NPC was ready to work with the Ethiopian parliament to maintain the momentum of high-level visits, and increase exchanges in special committees, friendship groups and other working organs.
