Expert: Plan to raise private funds for RenSquare feasible

The Main and Clinton Local Development Corporation has successfully kept Renaissance Square in the news by holding public workshops at which various parts of the project undergo public scrutiny, from the design concept to the facade. Now that a design concept has been selected and can be shown to potential donors, the challenge is to bridge a $55 million funding gap by the end of the year. The fundraising goals, as lofty as they seem, are not out of reach, according to one expert. Main and Clinton includes representatives from Monroe County, the city of Rochester, the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority and Monroe Community College and oversees development of the $230 million public works...
