Tasmania's retail industry is mourning the death of one its stalwarts, Duncan McDougall. The 69-year-old chief executive of the Tasmanian Retailers Association died on Monday after a short illness. The Association's Robert Parker says Mr McDougall was a leading accountant who worked tirelessly for business and the retail industry, particularly during the push to deregulate trading hours. "He was just a passionate campaigner about that issue right from the days that we had Saturday morning trading, and he sort of oversaw the move towards Saturday afternoons and then Sundays and then eventually the deregulation that we've now got today.
